The human body and the functions it can perform are an amazing amalgamation of millions of years of evolution and adaptation.
⠀
Because it is such a great adaptor, it will readjust to any stimulus that we give to it regularly.
⠀
So if it learns to sit in a chair, it will become good at being in that position. If we lean our head forward a lot, our neck will adapt into a curved position.
⠀
For example, place your hands on the back of your neck. First tuck your chin and move your head back. Now move your head forward. Then go back to where your vertebrae are aligned.
⠀
Can you feel your body adapting to these positions? Can you see how a new shape could develop with repeated reinforcement?
⠀
What if we taught our bodies more balance? What if we spent more time strengthening our weaker areas?
⠀
Regardless of your age, if you regularly perform movements that strengthen patterns that your body is designed for, you will encourage your body to function more happily!
⠀
Your body is designed to move in 7 fundamental ways: Pulling, Pushing, Hinging, Squatting, Rotation, Anti-Rotation, and Locomotion, such as crawling, stepping up, walking, and walking while carrying.
⠀
My approach to Kettlebell training comes from a place of curiousity and attention to the way the body moves and functions optimally.
⠀
I am not randomly choosing movements that seem trendy or cool.
⠀
They are movements that will help our body acclimate to healthy and well balanced functions.
⠀
So that you will have less pain, less risk of injury, and more freedom in your movement, and ease in the rest of your life adventures.
